Messiah Graduates Another Five TESOL Teachers

Another set of teachers of English graduated from
Messiah School of Professional Studies last Dec. 15, 2006. Tess Bantatua
and Lucy Dy were part of the 11-month program while Engsung Chua, Elizabeth
Wang, and Evelyn Apostol were enrolled in the 6-month program.
President Bob Del Rosario and Academic Dean Marlyn Del
Rosario awarded each graduate with a certificate on Teaching English to
Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL).
As part of the training, they learned how people
from various cultures think, how to communicate and adjust
cross-culturally, how to effectively share the Gospel, and how to teach
with biblical integration. Additionally, they did five Saturdays of
practicum at Christian Bible Church
of the Philippines at Talayan Village,
Quezon City
where more than 40 children from slum areas learned English and received
Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior.
Enrollment for the next
6-month program is now ONGOING. Classes start on January 27, 2007, every
Saturday, 8 AM – 5PM. For application and enrollment, please call
727-1506 or 727-4186 and look for Janet or Tess.

Batch of TESOL Graduates Honored
Messiah College honored the
first batch of students to graduate from its summer TESOL program on May
20, 2006.

Evelyn (second, front row) is
now learning to speak Niponggo since she is preparing to serve the Lord in Japan
this year. Hari, (back row,
left) a Nepali, is now training another Nepali and a Vietnamese how to
speak English. Daisy (2nd
from right) is building a training center in Manila for foreigners who want to learn
English. The goal in all these
is to be able to spread the Gospel and help fulfill Christ’s Great
Commission.
Cross-cultural Missions Outreach
Last
August, some of those whom we trained joined our 2-week missions
outreach. Twenty-six Koreans,
who came to the Philippines
to learn English, were exposed to the Gospel and were given the opportunity
to receive Christ at the end of the 2-week English training that we
conducted. All 26 Koreans prayed to receive Christ.
