Meet the Scholars!

These are just a few of the scholars that are studying at Messiah College. Paula Praxidio
Paula Grace Praxidio is the daughter of Nelson Praxidio, Senior Pastor of Calvary Christian Fellowship and Ellaine Praxidio, Principal of  Calvary Christian School in Pasig City.   She is an operatic singer; enjoys playing classical violin, drawing, and performing on stage. She is involved in their church’s Music Ministry.  She entered Messiah during the second semester of last school year, so she is an irregular first year student.  This June, she will join the new Freshmen batch in their out-of-town Leadership Training Institute in Rizal Re-Creation Center, Laguna.  Her chosen major is Intercultural Studies because she wants to be a missionary someday.  She is a student assistant helping out in the office and in the library.



Chai Abundo

Jabelle Feliz Abundo  was raised by Francelle Abundo, a single mom.  Chai, as she is fondly called, is a member of Victory Christian Fellowship Novaliches and is involved in the Media and Communications Ministry .  She was a Varsity volleyball player in high school and is also very good in badminton.  She sings, dances, and acts. During her high school years, she performed as a soloist in the ACSI Music Festival and graduated with honors. She is an incoming Sophomore majoring in Integrated Communications and Public Relations.  She has been a student assistant helping out in the library, office, and the canteen. Last year, she was with the Messiah Ministry Week team that served in Binangonan Christ-Centered Fellowship,  doing house-to –house evangelism school evangelism, and kids ministry and church cleaning.



Darell Garcia

Darell Garcia is majoring in Entrepreneurship at Messiah College.  He is a member of Hope Baptist Church where he serves as choir member, Awana counselor, Vacation Bible School teacher, and Youth Officer.  Darell is a dynamic leader when it comes to ministry with children!  He loves to sing and has a talent for declamation.  Darell has been a Student Assistant at Messiah College for the past 2 years, helping set up the laptops & LCDs for classes, as needed by the professors.  He also helped out in the office, assisting professors with their needs.  Last year, he and his Ministry Week team were assigned to Faith Baptist Christian Fellowship in Antipolo where they did an evangelistic puppet show, a  True Love Waits seminar, street evangelism and  a feeding program.  Darell has proven to be dependable, a man of initiative, honest & upright.


Hossana Praise Calangian

Hossana Praise Calangian is the daughter of Jonathan and Ana Maria Calangian. Hossana is majoring in Intercultural Studies  and desires to be used by God anywhere in the world.  She serves in the Music ministry of Banaban Gospel Christian Church in Bulacan. At Messiah College, she is actively involved in  the Worship and Praise student organization.  She also serves as a student assistant in the library and in the canteen.  Her sunny disposition,  her diligence,  teachableness,, and humility is a constant reminder to the Messiah family that God loves  and cares for His children!



Josh Agoncillo

Joshua Agoncillo is the son of Pastor Gerardo and Teacher Bloviy Agoncillo.  Joshua attends GCF Northwest. He is majoring in Integrated Communications and Public Relations. He is a student assistant assigned to man the reception table and to help set up the laptop and LCDs for classroom use as needed during his shift. He is an incoming Sophomore and was the Freshmen batch representative in the Student Council. He relates well with others and is a good team player.  He is active in extra-curricular activities, including church ministry among the youth.  Last year, he was assigned to the Ministry Week team that helped out at GCF San Fernando where he was involved in  street evangelism, dance workshop, Sunday School, and medical missions.



Jotham Pranza

Jotham Pranza is the son of missionaries Joel and Mimosa Pranza who serve the Lord with Mission Increase Foundation in Davao. Jotham also wants to serve God anywhere he is called. For this reason, he is majoring in Intercultural Studies.  Jotham was homeschooled before entering college. He won several awards in Scultpture and Science Research while in high school and was a member of the Agdao Violin Institute Strings Orchestra., At Messiah, Jotham serves in the reception area and assists faculty members by setting up the laptop and LCD for their class.  He also contributes his talent of playing the violin in Messiah’s chapel and other extra-curricular activities.  A humble guy, he is consistently on the honor roll at Messiah and serves as usher at GCF Ortigas  every Sunday.  His major is Intercultural Studies.



Sheb Suarez

Jehosheba Suarez, whom everyone fondly calls Sheb for short, is the daughter of Adoniram and Cheng Suarez, both missionaries with Harvest Foundation.  Sheb was homeschooled before coming to Messiah College, where she is now majoring in Psychology.   Her church involvement is in the Multi-media Ministry at the Bread of Life in Munoz, QC. .  At Messiah, she serves as a student assistant in the library and in the reception area.  Last year, she was part of the Messiah Ministry Week team that was assigned to serve at the First Baptist Church of Dau where she was involved in campus evangelism, kids’ ministry, and Sunday School.



Dens DimanalataDenise Yzabel Dimanalata came all the way from Palawan to major in Accountancy because she wants to serve God in this field.  She is the daughter of Rodelio Dimanalata, an electric cooperative employee and Edda Dimanalata, a government employee. Before coming to Manila, she was already active in the music ministry in her church in Palawan.  Dens enjoys singing, dancing, and playing table tennis. As a student assistant this past semester, she faithfully completed her duties and related effectively with fellow students from all year levels.  As an Accountancy major, Dens is assigned as the student assistant for the Business office.  Last year she and her Ministry Week team helped out the Asia Missions World Church in Cavite, where they did an evangelistic film showing  and concert, and medical missions.


Other Projects

  • Library Acquisition Project (books, journals, newspapers) – Help us raise more books for the library
  • Technology Project (Desktop computers, laptops, LCD/LED projectors)
  • Chapel Worship Project (musical instruments, microphones, etc)
  • Storehouse of Blessings (used clothes, books, household items, toys & personal items for distributions to missionary families during the annual Missions Week in Sept.)
  • Cross Cultural Missions Exposure Trip (Sponsorship of plane fare for faculty members & ministry expenses for 2 weeks in a Southeast Asian Country)
  • Missionary Care (Monthly, Bimonthly, semi-annually, or annual financial support for Messiah graduates whom God has called to full-time missions)
  • Ministry Week (evangelistic tracts or cash for ministry activities of student teams, faculty, and staff in partnership with local churches in nearby provinces every 2nd week of November)
  • Freshmen Leadership Training Conference (evangelistic tracts or cash for a 4 day out-of-town training and outreach)
  • Annual College Retreat (Sponsorship of faculty members’ registration fee)
