SCHOLARSHIP

 

  1. You may qualify for the National Honor Scholarship if you graduate as a valedictorian or a salutatorian from a DepEd recognized school with not less than 30 graduates.  This scholarship covers 100% of tuition fee for Valedictorians; 50% of tuition for salutatorians.

You may qualify for the Emerging Christian Leader Scholarship if you have been actively involved in your church’s youth activities, high school extra-curricular activities, or community projects and programs, and if your final average is 83% or better (with no grade below 80% in any subject).  This scholarship may cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of tuition fee depending on the application’s qualification as determined by the Scholarship Committee.

You may qualify for a General Financial Need Scholarship if your family’s gross income is not more than P30,000 a month and your final average is 83% or better (with no grade below 80% in any subject). This scholarship may cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of tuition fee depending on the application’s qualification as determined by the Scholarship Committee. 
  1. You may qualify for the Pastors’ Kids or Missionaries’ Kids Scholarship if one or both parents are full-time pastors or missionaries and your final average is 83% or better (with no grade below 80% in any subject). This scholarship may cover 25%, 50%, 75% or 100% of tuition fee depending on the application’s qualification as determined by the Scholarship Committee.

 

GENERAL POLICIES

  1. Student may avail of only one (1) scholarship at a time.
  2. Eligibility for scholarship and the kind and amount of assistance will be determined by the Scholarship Committee upon completion of all requirements.
  3. Scholarships cover Tuition fee only (maximum of 21 units per semester); they do not cover New Student Fee, NSTP, Leadership Development Fee, Registration, Development Fee, Laboratory & Athletic Fees, and Miscellaneous Fees.
  4. Only incoming freshman students may apply for scholarships. Slots are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.
  5. The scholarship committee reserves the right to withhold awarding of the scholarships if no qualified applicants emerge.

 

 

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS 

To qualify for financial assistance, the student must satisfy the following:

  1. Student must consistently demonstrate Christ-like character.
  2. Student must be actively involved in Messiah activities/or a student organization.
  3. Student must be willing to render services to the school as student assistant (at least 3 hours a week or maximum of 70 hours a semester).
  1. Student must not have a grade of INC, DRP, FA or “5.0” in any subject.
  2. Student must take a full load as prescribed in his/her curriculum.
  3. Student must be actively involved and must hold a leadership position in church youth activities, extra-curricular activities or community involvements.
  4. Student must have not been subjected to any disciplinary action due to a major offence or repeated minor offences.
  5. For incoming freshman, he must have a high school final grade of 83% or better (with no grade below 80% in any subject).
  6. Student must have the recommendation of the Admissions Committee (for incoming freshman) or the Board of Review and Discipline (for continuing student).
  7. Student must commit to finish his/her course of study at Messiah.
  8. Scholarship may be renewed every semester provided a weighted average of at least 2.25 (83-85%) is maintained. Student must fill out Scholarship Renewal Form.

HOW TO APPLY FOR SCHOLARSHIP 

  1. You must be accepted for admission as an incoming, full-time, first-year or transfer student on the first semester before applying for a scholarship.
  2. Download or get a scholarship application form from the Scholarship Office. Complete the form and submit it together with the necessary requirements to the Scholarship Office.
  3. You will be called for interview by the Scholarship Officer.
  4. The Scholarship Office will inform you of the result of your application through text or call.
  5. Come with your parents for Orientation and signing of Scholarship Agreement on the date set by the Scholarship Office. Non-appearance of at least one parent or guardian and/or student may cause the scholarship to be withdrawn.
  6. The result of scholarship application will be considered final and official upon signing of the Scholarship Agreement by student, parents and representative of Messiah College Foundation, Inc. The agreement will be notarized and the student and his/her parent or guardian will be furnished with a copy.
  7. Enroll with a full load and submit your enrollment form to the Scholarship Office. A full load consists of the number of units prescribed by the curriculum of your major in each semester. Scholars are required to pay at least 50% of the total fees to be considered enrolled.

 

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS 

FOR EMERGING LEADER SCHOLARSHIP

  1. Completely filled out Emerging Leader Scholarship Application Form  with 2×2 photo
  2. Letter of Request for Scholarship
  3. Copy of High School Report Card or Form 137.
  4. Proof of Family Income (company pay slip, certificate of employment and compensation, income tax return)
  5. Certification and proof of leadership positions and accomplishments in church activities, extra-curricular activities, and community involvements from Youth or Senior Pastor, Principal, Organization/Club Advisers, community head or local government respectively
  6. Detailed description of activities, projects, accomplishments and involvements
  7. Essay on why you are qualified for the emerging leader scholarship program (double space, Arial size 11, minimum of 2 pages)

 

FOR PASTOR’S KID/MISSIONARY KID SCHOLARSHIP

  1. Completely filled out Pastor’s Kid/Missionary’s Kid Scholarship Application Form  with 2×2 photo
  2. Letter of Request for Scholarship
  3. Copy of High School Report Card or Form 137.
  4. Proof of Family Income (company pay slip, certificate of employment and compensation, income tax return)
  5. Parent’s Resume or Biodata
  6. Parent’s Certification of pastoral or missionary status from his/her church or mission organization that is SEC registered, including length of service, location, description of ministry, and estimated regular monthly support/income and other kinds of remuneration.
  7. Copy of church’s or mission organization’s SEC registration (first page only)
  8. Church’s or mission organization’s doctrinal statement of faith

 

FOR GENERAL FINANCIAL NEED SCHOLARSHIP

  1. Completely filled out General Financial Need Scholarship Application Form  with 2×2 photo
  2. Letter of Request for Scholarship
  3. Copy of High School Report Card or Form 137.
  4. Proof of Family Income (company pay slip, certificate of employment and compensation or income tax return of parents/legal guardian and other gainfully employed members of the household). For those who are tax exempt, submit a certification of exemption from BIR stating the annual gross income. If parent/legal guardian is retired, submit retirement and/or pension voucher.
  5. Latest Tax Declarations of all real properties
  6. Last month’s electric bill

 

FOR NATIONAL HONOR SCHOLARSHIP

  1. Completely filled out National Honor Scholarship Application Form  with 2×2 photo
  2. Letter of Request for Scholarship
  3. Copy of High School Report Card or Form 137.
  4. Proof of Family Income (company pay slip, certificate of employment and compensation, income tax return)
  5. Certification or proof of graduation as valedictorian or salutatorian from high school principal, including the total number of students who graduated that year.
  6. Essay on “Characteristics of a 21st Century Christian Leader” (double space, Arial size 11, minimum of 2 pages)
